  1. I have a Landy 130 tipper, and the brake squeal is driving me mental.

It developed a slight squeak, so it went to the garage.

Came pack worse, like the top gear trick. Every time you touched the brakes it would squeal at any speed.

Back again yesterday. Was fine for a mile now it's started again. Not as bad as before. But worse than the first time.

Had 6 month when I first had it. And there wasn't a sound from the brakes.

    Can any one please help.

  2. Having the st6 and had the 8 on demo.

Imo nothing other than the mouth opening.

Wanted the 8 as we do a lot of prickly **** and hate handling it.

It doesn't crush the material any more.

    It chips logs brilliant.

Just didn't do what I wanted.

    Stuck with the 6

Which for me is the best machine in its class

Used all the main ones and the first does it all and comparably priced cheaper with more warranty

  3. Thanks Steve. From what I can see it's not box blight

    Was my first suspicion.

    No black on it

The other blight has white dot on the underside

It's just dead patches. In random places.

    Really strange.

There is plenty of other box hedges round other parts of the garden. All trimmed around the same time and again sympathetically. And they haven't done like the pics above

  4. So, if there is demand enough to be booked for months ahead 'consistently' then why not half that and employ more people to give a shorter turnaround/better service...?

    Ty

My responds is that people want to use me not someone who work for me.

    That it really

  5. I'll say it in simple terms then......climber climbs tree and sends it all down to the ground.....groundie then cuts it up, drags the brash and carrys the logs to the truck......who's had the hardest day?? Why is one worth more than the other??

Well given what you just said I don't know.

Today's example. Deadwooding a veteran oak overhanging the property, a green house, some fencing and some other stuff.

The Groundy was flat out the chipper was 10 metres away. The Arbor trolleys anti gravity thingy was broken.

Not every day is dragging tons of material a mile away from the chipper

  6. JMO mate.......If a climber is a competent climber then he should be as comfy up the tree as the groundie is on the ground......a climber has gravity on his side, a groundie don't and still has to clear the brash/logs that the climber sends down so a hell of a lot more graft involved....a groundie has less stress/responsibility??? Sorry can't agree on that either!! Imo a groundie controls half the show from the ground while a climber controls the other half in the tree.....its a 50/50 effort and i see no reason why one deserves more than the other....:thumbup1:

FYI no im not a groundie, im a self employed contractor and as it happens price up quite a lot of tree work.....the climber I use gets £125 a day and so does the groundie.....They both bring there own saws, PPE etc and for £250 a day between them i have piece of mind that BOTH tasks are carried out correctly, safely and in good time.....again JMO.....:thumbup1:

Climber has gravity on his side

    That went over my head.

    Haven't tried but I reckon I don't bounce!

  7. :congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats:

    Generally speaking,

If you had a spare climber on the team, he/she could act as a groundie if needed.

If you had a spare groundie, could he/she step in as a climber for the day?

Climber has to be worth more, how much more depends on a lot of things, but the two jobs are NOT the same.

    :congrats:

  8. I can't see why a groundie should be on any less than a climber tbh

    Seriously. Wtf

    Groundsman- ppe and chainsaw

Climber- ppe chainsaw(s) climbing gear rigging gear loler every 6 months

IMO more stress, more responsibility and more often than not more dangerous.

Comparing MOST climbers to MOST groundsmen I KNOW the climbers are more skilled and hold more tickets.

    Take it your a groundsman.........

As most climbers I know would be pi$$d right off if they were on the same ££ as Groundy.

Obviously there some ace grounds out there that command top money. But there are also top climber who will always earn more than a top Groundy.

Have I covered my back enough lol !

  9. Side leg zips - top of calf

Do you need belt loops? Please

Do you need connecting points for braces? Please

Hi viz tapes - necessary or not? Absolutely

Pockets - yes or no? No, but zips to get to trouser pockets would be nice

Elasticated waistband or trouser style finish with zip and button? Elastic back with zip & button front

Price point (realistically it'll be in line with the jacket). No idea

Colours? Dark - hi viz looks dirty too quickly, however with hi viz tapes will still be visible

    Hope that helps :001_smile:

When is the estimated release date for them?
