Climbing qualified team member sought for small, family run business. We are busy with mainly domestic work for private households in the Aldershot, Farnham and surrounding areas. We keep reasonable hours and person orientated work practices with a keen focus on quality over quantity. Hours: 07:30-08:00 for coffee and prep., on to work site for 08:30, complete job to high standard, home; Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week, with an option for Thursday and Friday also.

We have 220 and 235, both are solid, well built machines. Infeed has never been a problem, excepting wear on the rollers which is inevitable on any machine.

I have schliesing machines which have Kubota engines, the rpm of the flywheel is important as this is monitored by a proximity sensor which manages to 'no stress' control. Therefore the drive ratio between the engine and flywheel will be the factor that tells you what engine rpm will give an adequate flywheel rpm in order to work effectively and efficiently. We require a flywheel rpm of above circa 1300, but not exceeding this by much.
Non of this may be relevant but I do have a Kubota Series 05 engine workshop manual on pdf if that helps? Let me know and I'll send a copy.

Turn the key, wait for the warm up sequence (clicking noise, normal), push the start button- a click and nothing else. Clicking noise continues.
I've checked the battery, which is good.
Any suggestions on what to look at next?

The rollers are only mild steel, normal mig wire is good and with a sharp ground edge it makes a massive difference. New springs are a bonus too.

I have an oil warning on the console and the machine will not turn over. Any ideas on cause and a remedy? Thanks.
Ps it has oil in the sump.

Thanks all, I've no plans to change anything and use either the starter or crabs to open the proprietary caps. Just hoping to confirm the belief that is possible.

I believe that it is possible to change the echo oil/fuel caps for Husqvarna caps. If this is true, which caps are suitable? Thanks

Thanks Monkeybusiness, I'm down South. Aldershot, a long way from Cheshire ? If they're working and will fit an HT 131, would you consider a courier?

Openspaceman, was the centre star shaped shaft one long piece or two parts?

The externally splined shaft is in two sections, the shorter part (power unit end) has a sprung ring around it, presumably to keep it in position? My question is; should there be two sections or has my one snapped?

Can anyone confirm if the splined drive shaft that runs up the centre of the tube consists of one or two parts? Drive to the saw head has stopped and I cannot work out what the failure is, the extended tube will not fully house either. Any help or experience appreciated.

These haven't caused any trouble for us yet in two years. One tune up, but that's been it until the throttle trigger snapped (thanks for the replacement Mark @ Skyland). They're like powered Silkys!
Enough of this work stuff now....

Replacing a broken throttle trigger and this is my first venture into the inner workings of this model. A tiny 3mm ball bearing has dropped from the handle assembly and onto the worktop. Where has it come from?
