  1. Advice taken on board and now listed on Arbtrader, I think!
  2. No but it is like one on the M Large website only dirtier !! Really just after an opinion rather than offers to buy, Not advertised yet and if it seems it will not fetch much I will keep it.
  3. The tree had been tested by myself last year with the Picus tomograph and was shown to have significant decay present due to colonisation by Phaeolus. This year both Mick Boddy and myself spent most of a day testing with the Tomograph and two resistographs just to be sure of the accuracy of our results. We tested at several heights and found extensive levels of advanced tissue degradation. The National trust considered all of the evidence and also asked Jeremy Barrell for an opinion. Be it financial or H&S they took a decision to fell the tree. We can all stand back and pass comment and be critical about anothers decision but the National Trust will have to carry the can in the event of a claim. I would like to have seen the tree kept following a reduction but I can understand the N T stance. We live in a world where litigation can influnece many decisions.
  4. You can tell I am bored after a long walk!! Has Arborwear gone out of fashion?? I put some trousers and a shirt on Ebay and they don't seem to be getting much interest. I thought that such items would sell easily but I guess fashion moves on.
  5. I am going to be selling my trailer mounted splitter as my processor does all I need really. It is the road tow unit with the Subaru petrol engine. I have a set of flotation tyres and rims to go with it. The skinny ones are crap on wet ground. It is about two years old and only been used by me for my own firewood. Paintwork could do with a tidy up but all else is good. Can I get a few opinions on value within the industry before I advertise it. I have done a bit of research but the prices are wildly different.
  6. If it arrives back here or you want to organise delivery with the current guardian then it's yours.
  7. Actually Sam will have a problem mounting the winch on his land rover because, the winch bumper I gave away free to a fellow arborist because he advertised it for sale on the Defender forum a couple of hours after collecting it. A bespoke bumper by a welder fabricator, made about 4 years ago for the bloke I bought it from. It is very very heavy (25 kilos maybe) and you could probably knock a house down with it! It's been hot dip galvanised and painted with TTH (?) Paint, incredibly tough stuff used on forestry machines. Couple of cosmetic scrapes on it and could probably do with a paint touch up, but looks fine and is perfectly serviceable and sound, obviously no rust . I bought it because at the time I fancied a winch - afterwards decided it really isn't my thing so it's just sitting there. I can get pictures if anyone is interested with out a problem Looking around the £200 mark, currently in Penrith but I'll be heading down to Cheshire at the end of the week, so could sort something. atb Sam _________________ Good things come to the wild and free The above listing appeared in the for sale and wanted section of the Defender forum. I listed this as free to hopefully benefit a fellow arborist not to provide an opportunist the chance to make up stories and profit from denying someone else who really needed it the chance of a bit of good luck. Sorry to anyone who really could have used it I wish you had responded earlier.
  8. Is it going on the 90 you came to pick it up with?
  9. What sort of winch are you fitting I have a fairlead roller set for a warn.
  10. No word from Garth so up for grabs. Pm me about collection please.
  11. Garth did you get my pm with the dimensions? if not the size is approx 2mx300mmx 520mm Let me know if you have a change of plan.
  12. As Garth posted first I must give him chance to arrange a courier, if that falls through then its down to Sam. I have a 750/16 Avon ranger tyre with 80% tread also free to a good home.
  13. Thanks after a bit of exploration I found out how:blushing:
  14. Actually it seems there is no option for private emails on the forum so I will have to keep an eye on the posts.
