  1. Are any of you guys thinking of bringing some climbing gear down to do some reccy climbing somewhere around the estate? Not sure if there will be any official recreational climbing happening, but I for one would love to check it out and have a go/ or see it done in the flesh and have a chat with someone in the know how. (Have never climbed with a rope and harness before, and am keen to learn at some stage, and possibly buy some basic of gear at this show).

Rowan there'll be plenty of climbers there only too glad to give you a shot just make yourself known:thumbup1:

  2. The Irish Tree Climbing Championships will be run there on the Friday & Saturday along with the woodland crafts , poleclimbing , axemen etc.Stands from Fletcher Stewart/Stein Honey Bros ( I think ?) amongst others .So should be plenty for everyone. The inaugural one two years ago was pretty good so should be a good one this year:thumbup1:

  3. Don't go for a hidden winch it'll only bring trouble.Look for a genuine warn external winch mount.I've fitted three over the years and the Warn XP is a very good winch. Not meant for continuos use but will do what you want of it.I had one on my D3 for three years and served me well( miss it every day lol). There's loads of threads on disco3.co.uk covering it altho you may have to search back a few years as it's all gone very blingy on there since I used to frequent.

  4. Just recently converted ours over from oil , same as yours. They're fetching about €400 over here as private sales converted back to solid fuel.I was offered €100 from a company dealing in refurbed Rayburn/Aga models against a €3500 refurbed model :sneaky2: They're a doddle to change back , full set of bricks ,new riddling grate & frame €160 approx and about half a day of my own time. I only needed two bricks (wrap round boiler) but had to buy the full set.The oil feed entered via the left hand side and was easily repaired. That one looks to be in great condition:thumbup1:

  5. I use one of the above pro- arc machines and they are the bees knees.I've thrown some really gnarly lumps at it and it hasnt refused , yet :001_smile:

I looked endlessly for a second hand one and couldn't find one anwhere. Most of the hire shops over here use them so that says a lot. They produce a vertical version aswell.Excellent machine :thumbup1:
