    Spike types

I have got my ticket, but there was no discussion of twisted or straight spikes on the course. I borrowed spikes off the instructor for the course and they were straight but we simply covered the use of them not the variations in type which for someone new to climbing are slightly confusing.
  2. I have got my CS38 and am getting my climbing kit together, and was wondering what exactly is the difference between twisted and straight steel spikes.
  3. I'm new on here, just thought I'd say hi. I am just getting into arb work (got my CS30 31 38), working on a christmas tree farm at the moment though have done coppicing too.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
