im looking for a big saw, something like a 880 or 3120xp.(something that will run a 48"bar)
are there any for sale out there?
also. is it just the 2 saws above that will run a 48" bar?

Just seen this Matt - yep possibly could work as you have a sealed area and are just using wood as the heat and not electricity.
Have a good look through past kiln threads as there is a lot of info already on here.
cheers Rob D. im also looking at getting in to more milling and looking at swapping my 365 24" bar for a 880 or 3120xp, basically something that would take a 48" bar, any recomendations? also will prob be looking for a 48" mill and bar.

The tree is in Annan sw Scotland about 50ish foot. And 2-3 foot at base. Perfectly straight!

As the title suggests, I was wondering if milled planks could be dried in a sauna without cracking the boards? Just a thought to help the seasoning process.

Iv tried alot of sharpening systems but found this sharpener the best,PFERD Chain Saw Files & Accessories - CHAIN SHARP®
stihl also do a similar system aswel but is not as aggressive.

You say a 48" bar would need a skip chain. What do you mean by this? And why?
