I have just been checking my kit after the weeks climbing, even though I do a pre check of my zig zag before I climb have noticed mine has a crack in the top rivet, wounded cos it ace.
I know petzl have stated that it will still hold if it fails, let's be honest they realeased it and said it had been thoroughly tested, but it failed could they be wrong again? More than likley. no good climbing on something that you know is gonna fail, shop I bought it from has offered to replace or refund, back to a hitch climber for me.

Any ideas spud to check you seem like you know what your doing with tuning and getting the best from a saw?
-
Yeh definitely lay gonna get a t540 next, you would think stihl would get there finger out and sort the issues out with this especially as it's replacement to one of the best saws ever made.
-
After a bit of advice, I have a stihl 201, had it about a year and for the last 4 month been running it on aspen fuel, recently it has sounded like it is missing, I can tune it up so it is running spot on, as soon as it starts cutting it gets bogged down like it hasn't got the power to get through a log 8" in diameter and sounds awful.
Any suggestions on how to sort this?

I know there is a post on here for these boots but thought that I would give you an up to date review on my experience with them.
I got them from Sorbus best part of £240 back in November, I am just to say wearing them in now but I havnt been wearing them everyday, on and off every other week. The past two weeks is the first time with them out in the rain, not good! There about as waterproof as my socks! Who ever came up with the outdry system want beating to death with these boots! The first time wasn't even raining was just the dew off long grass by lunch time soaked though to the skin, second time today, 2 hours in light rain in a field soaked through, I came from having haix boots and almost went towards the meindl but made a bad decision. Don't get me wrong other than the waterproofing boots are great, solid round the ankles good grip built like walking boots and look the business. Great boots if ya work in a place that is dry. Anyone out there had any experience With them and if so can ya get a waterproofing spray for them? I also herd they come with a warranty for them?

I have three ropes that i use for different things the Elderid xp jamaica, New england tachyon, and the yale poison hi-vy.
the elderid is a great rope for use with lockajacks, its got a harder outer surface so falls through far easier than the other two,
but I prefer the poison hi vy, if ya get chance to use it have a go, to work with its unberlievable compaired to the other two, and there both good ropes.

This has already gone to let people know
anyone had a zigzag crack here?

I was talking to the Petzl rep at the apf and she said they know how we treat our gear better than we do our selves and these are tested beyond belief.maybe by the time the zig zag mk20 comes out they might have it right eh. It's not good when crackes are appearing when it hasn't even took a shock load, Think it would probably fall to pieces it it did.
