Hi I've got a Makita DCS3410TH that I bought in France three years ago. It's been sat idle in the garage for eighteen months, and won't start now.
Not being a mechanic I'm scrabbling around for info to try and avoid having to pay someone to change a widget and get it back up and running. What are the things I should check out? Something dried out.......?

Anyone know where I can get a new air filter for my DCS3410TH?

It is more a case of having some big logs to dissect and that a longer bar would make that job easier. Am I right in thinking that?

Hi Guys
I have a Makita TH 3410 with a 12 inch bar on it. My questions are:
1. What would be the maximum length bar I could put on it?
2. What's the best sort of chain to get? (it needs replacing)
Thanks

OK thanks that's an idea as well.

There, I knew it was a good idea to ask the question here. Of COURSE I wasn't going to drag them out with a tirfor how dumb would that be? I can just picture my wife's face...
As it happens there are some very friendly farmers nearby who I'm sure would help.
So, I just need a BIG chain........
Thanks guys

Hi
I'm not a tree expert, so I've come here to the home of the experts
I have several mature (2ft diameter) oak trees which were felled two years ago and left on the land. I intend to:
- cut them into 4m lengths
- drag them to the roadside (about 50m)
- take them to the local sawmill for planking
It's in France, but don't suppose that makes any difference.
I've got a small but decent chainsaw, and need to buy a tirfor I think.
Any advice from you guys?
- cut them into 4m lengths

OK I've put fresh fuel in. I'll change the spark plug and air filter - anyone know a good place to get these things?
