  1. My primary occupation is as a sound engineer ( more specifically monitors the stuff the bands hear not what the public hear). I have tried many suppliers of both custom ear plugs and custom earphones. This is who I have found to be best for me may be worth a look. Yes they cost a lot of money but you only get 1 set of ears. Please note I do not work for this company or am not in anyway involved other than being a very satisfied customer. Hope this helps WG
  2. Looks like a good event, might see if I can get a pass out for the weekend.

On second thoughts I guess if you need class 2 trousers class 2 boots would also be applicable WG

    PPE Classes

Thanks for this Borders, I guess my best bet will be to buy class 3 PPE, if chain speed strays from class to class, from saw to saw. (even at manufacturers spec) Cheers W.G

    PPE Classes

Please excuse my ignorance, but does this mean that if you buy a saw from one of the big two the chain speed would only require more than class 1 protection if you deviate from the manufacturers guidelines on bars lengths or were to change the main drive sprocket? Or do they both manufacture saws that require class 2 or 3 protection as stock? Obviously I will carry out detailed research before the purchase of a saw, but i want to complete some of my NPTC training / certificates before i buy a saw. However I wish to purchase my own PPE for the courses but don't want to find that I have bought PPE which restricts my saw purchase. Sorry for the longwinded post. Cheers W.G

    PPE Classes

Are there any scenarios where i would NEED any more than class 1 protection PPE? I realise that one should always buy the best you can afford but it is an expensive game, but in the same breath I am always conscious of the old motto "buy cheap, buy twice". Any help / advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance W.G

Hi there I am new to this so please forgive me if I am asking a stupid question. I have a petzel Navaho Bod Fast which I use for my current job, which is rigging for the ents industry. Just wondered if this is suitable for tree work? Thanks in advance for your help WG
