  1. Dear Dereck,

I come from the United Kingdom in a place called Newmarket near Cambridge. A few months ago I decided I wanted to travel to New Zealand, so now I have been here three weeks. I am living on Anzac Avenue in central Auckland.

I am a fully qualified Tree Surgeon and have over three years experience. I have worked for Shire Tree Surgery, Eastern Landscapes (this is a tree company not a landscaping company) and D.M Trees. I went to Otley College where I achieved my areal rescue, climbing from a rope and harness, using a chainsaw in a tree, cross cutting, tree felling and my level two in Arboriculture.

I have a lot of experience with chainsaws, lowering, and general grounding work. I have climbed a fair bit in the past but this is not my area of competence. I was wondering whether you had any work available or maybe you would be able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks a lot for your time Derek,

    Kind Regards,

  2. Hi Josh, potentially, December is summer time over here so great time to visit! It really depends on who we're looking for at that time and it's quite hard to say now who we'll need. Please send through your CV to [email protected] and we can see if you're suitable and try to get something lined up for you.
  3. Excellent - please send over your CV now and if suitable, we can hopefully get something lined up for you at that time.

Where else in the world can you be in the snow and then surfing within three hours? Are you a Kiwi fed up of your OE and getting homesick? If you’re planning on returning home soon, then do it now, the ski season is just around the corner. 6. Hi western, sure please send it through to [email protected], your qualifications sound relevant. Many thanks.
  7. Following up on some direct email queries generated through this forum, if you have a Level 4 Qualification in NZ, this is equivalent to a National Diploma in the UK, then it's easier with regards immigration. At the moment, arborists are on the skills shortage list in NZ, however you must have this level of education in order to qualify.
  8. Thanks again, Taupotreeman. We're looking for people with at least a Class 1 full car licence, Class 2 in NZ is a truck licence. FYI with a similar UK licence this can be easily converted for a 12 month period to an equivalent international licence. After this period, you need to do a short test to convert to an NZ licence.
  9. Thanks for your comments and help answering queries too, most appreciated! For the interview tree climbing trial, the tree will be between 10-30 metres.
  10. Please send your CV to [email protected] He will review your details and provide you with all the relevant information.
  11. It really depends on your individual personal circumstances and the visa you apply for. This link from NZ immigration may help: United Kingdom Working Holiday Scheme
  12. We have ongoing requirements in New Zealand, so November could work for us. If you have the relevant skillset and are interested in relocating, then please email your CV for review and we can take it from there.
