  1. HSE leaflet INDG422 free to download gives guidance on loler inspections, it say's thorough examination by a competent person, not a loler inspector. It also gives guidance as to what constitutes a competent person for thorough examination. My opinion after reading this, is that if you regularly inspect your exuipment, keep a record, along with having a arborist of a few years standing who has used and worked with similar equipment, check your equipment, then you are complying with loler. Under loler your anchor point in a tree constitutes part of your lifting equipment and should be thoroughly examined prior to use, would you therefore expect a loler examiner to inspect every job you do?
