  1. I use a dremel for the majority of my sharpening, also keep looking at the clarke bench mounted sharpener in machine mart.

I also use a dremel, a cordless one and diamond bits as the diameter remains the same.

A couple of local professionals mocked the idea but they both have them now, the diamond bits give an edge much finer than a file therefore lasts longer.

  2. Whats going on here ?.

Bloke ( or lady ?) posts a fairly normal request perhaps phrased not as most are and seems to be getting some (but not all) smart arsed replies. Thats not what this board is about in my book.

  3. Hi Drythropple

Give the office a call and speak to Kevin on the service deck. Does sound like the gap is too large. How good is the anvil. Have the blades been sharpened to much?

    Ok, thanks, will do

    Is there a manual available?

  4. Are they sharp?

    If they aren't you haven't a prayer

He reckons so, he has also turned the anvil to a new edge, the timber is left with a "long tongue" on it as if the blade isnt close enough, I think he has messed around with it too much and its now way off the original settings!!

  5. Any one know anything about setting up the blades on this machine?

Belongs to a friend of mine but has stopped pulling the timber in (no feed rollers its that old), in fact it is more likely to chuck it back at you!,

    Any help would be appreciated

  6. Thanks for all the advice I'm gong to spend next week trying to sort it!

I think the answer to your problem would be to fit the saw control valve as fitted to the Kesla and Patu stroke delimbers

This valve splits a small portion of the saw motor flow to the double acting ram that controls the saw rise and fall, it is adjustable to control the speed of fall and when your control lever is pushed to rise it cuts off the oil flow to the saw motor, no blown seals!

Caladonian forestry services are the agents for Kesla and are very helpful

  7. Thanks for the response. The idea is to use the tractor in the wood, and Land Rover on the road. I tried a wheel against the trailer and there looks to be clearance? Spacers wouldn't be to much hassle, I was hoping some one out there would know of a 4 stud wheel which would fit onto the existing hubs.

Try Totrax, they have wheel/tyre combinations for any application
