  1. I don't want to pay big money for a quality stove really because the house will be up for rental in a few years so I'm after the best budget stove I can find so I can save some money and put it towards the rest of the house, I also have to buy the flue pipe and all the bits and pieces to go with it and that will cost me around £300ish
  2. Which stove did you end up buying at robies and do you mind me askin the price and what you managed to haggle it for? I'm after buying 2 stoves so might get a good deal anyway....
  3. Anyone have any idea as to the best place to pick a good stove up from? Anyone seen any good offers?
  4. Im looking for some advice on woodburning stoves, iv been searching the Internet for a while now and got familiar with all the popular/good brands of stoves, I'm after a stove that can heat all my house if possible with the doors left open on all the rooms because iv got a decent stock of logwood that's been drying out for a year now so I can have it burning all the time, my house is an end of terrace with just a kitchen and living room downstairs so the house is not that big, I'm looking for advice on best brands, best prices, which Kw is suitable, and best place to find a good stove, I'm interested on what stoves people have on here iv been into quite a few homes and seen some really impressives stoves so if anyone has any pics to put on here it would be good to take a look! thanks for any help

  11. Thanks steve and garth for your advice... looks like we have reached the decision of the 3/8 sprocket upgrade will NOT work but i will leave it till tonight for a few more people to shine some light onto this thread then i will have to cancel the sprocket change monday morning
  12. what work do you class as using the saw to high performance sluggish at logging up...? Im in the position of having 50 chains sat in my garage doing nothing which dont think many people will be interested in buying them cheap... the chains are - 1.6mm 50 links 3/8 13inch bar 1.6mm 56 links 3/8 15inch bar or use them for myself and upgrade the sprocket to 3/8 for £15 plus labour...
  13. i cant see how it would make that much of a difference the MS260 runs a 15inch bar as an option and its only the sprocket increasing by millimeters..?
  14. I have recently bought 50 brand new stihl chains at a bargain price 13inch and 15inch chains which i thought would fit onto my stihl MS 260... I got home and placed the 15inch bar and chain on the saw and got the saw running and it did now sound right the chain running round the sprocket i took the cover off and the chain did NOT fit snug round the sprocket which rang alarm bells to something was wrong... Iv taken the chains to seddons a local stihl dealer and they said the chains fit the next size up chainsaw with a 3/8 sprocket MS 290 upwards. They suggested 2 options... - Buy a bigger saw so the chains would fit - Upgrade the sprocket to 3/8 They said in theory the upgrade should work so thought i would ask the question on here if anyone had any idea to wether this would work... thanks for any help adam
