  2. hi was just wondering if you could tell me a little more about the job. I have 30, 30.1 +.2 - over 10 yrs experience with some good companies, and live in worcestershire. regards, tim
  3. For years i worked with no tickets, apparantly ' unders supervision' was ok - was on ground, then also climbing big scary stuff quite alot, for bigger companies such as fountains and bartlett - both were prepared to put me through tickets, with some sort of deal whereby if you leave in a certain time then you repay a %. because of movin around alot, i never got em, and eventually bit the bullet and borrowed the money to get ground tickets, at Arborventure in hamps. not only did this help me meet new people, contacts etc, i was up against alot of eager newbies, and when some of them failed, i passed without dropping a single mark on the assessments - great for confidence and reaffirms why you do it in the first place. i have also had to apply for jobs for years with no driving licence, which is about to change, but my point is, ive worked with new guys with tickets, driving licence etc - they last 1 week and they're out usually - but THEY ALWAYS GET THROUGH THE DOOR FIRST. get at least a ground ticket man at least. you gotta be in it to win it..!
  4. no i haven't sadly.. where are you and what sort of work? i understand the licence issue, yet hope this would not be a barrier...
  5. Hi all Tim, 35, 8 yrs experience for companys such as Fountains, Bartlett's, Banyards, - top notch groundie, saw operator/feller - can climb, NPTC 30.1,.2,31, registered self employed, based in Evesham, worcestershire, days or full time. Was gonna change career, but miss it too much and still have the passion and energy ! Cheers, tim
  6. hi Deni not sure if this would interest you or not, its not immediate, but for spring/summer - its the apprenticeship scheme run by the FC, 2 yr placement in scotland, salary 13.5K - i rang the guy and put my name down to be contacted when they sort out placements, then you apply and take it from there. sounded ggod to me, anyways the guy will explain it to you - contact Ashley Woodhouse, 01463 252648 - took me a few goes to get hold of him, but a nice guy all the best
  7. while working for bartlett in kent we met gary rhodes, the guy out of george and mildred, and my foreman ended his career ( in england anyway ) by felling the top out of a very dead, 40ft pine attempting to roll it off a smaller tree in an adjacent field to save DAVID STARKEY's lawn (that historian ) - any way, it sat back after touching the other tree ( no hinge ) and he took it on his wrist, smashed it . - not only this, but we also accidentaly broke an old bench whilst reducing some large beech, which his solicitor wrote to us about demanding 1200 notes! yeh, he was reimbursed. ps - as the groundie that day, i told him it was dodge and said the lawn....... always listen to your groundie..... unless hes wrong......
