I think that people are giving up making firewood and importing the ready made stuff from the Baltic states, we looked at it and it is cheaper than making our own and we harvest our own timber, and i think it is affecting our timber sales as firewood producers are buying the ready made,instead of buying our timber and producing there own firewood. There are in hard times ahead for small forestry and firewood production.

Just fitted some secondhand controls to my Nokka timber crane and now the slew drifts off downhill instead of staying where you put it, which makes it really hard to operate on a slope, the controls are IH spools the old ones that i removed are Kontak spools.

The Kontak spools are going to be recond until then i would like to sort the IH spools if possible.

Things are not good, we are cutting 6 ton a week to feed our biomass boilers, not bothering cutting more as we can,t sell it at roadside even though we,ve dropped our prices per ton, I think cheap kiln dried imports are hitting our hardwood sales.

I was the same and found out i,ve got Fibro myalgia. So gave up drinking and smoking, That helped abit but it,s still hard work for me in the woods.

4 truck loads of saw logs sold, still got mixed softwood for sale.

Starting cutting next week at Haltwhistle, so i will have 25 ton of larch saw logs and 25 ton of Norway fir saw logs ready in a couple of weeks at roadside, will also have 4 truck loads of mixed softwoods for sale.

It,s the black metal bit at the rear end of the mudguard i,m after.

Bought a 3095 and replaced the mudguards and made new mounts for the mudguards, now i,m after the rear part that the rear lights sit on anyone know if you can get after market ones?

Starting cutting mixed softwood near Haltwhistle, this coming week. Should be about 150 tons, £35 a ton roadside.
