  1. In the free classified of Forestry Journal this month: "15-ton Boughton winch, hardly used, to fit Ford County, £2800 ono 07818262081" May be of use for someone on here.
  2. Cheers for the replies guys. Dan
  3. Evening all. Just wondering if anyone on here does firewood in Pembrokeshire? If so can you deliver to Broadhaven? and what amount and how much? Cheers
  4. Didn't know that about chiros. As/when/if the next visit will be to a physio, although the pilates seems to do the trick at the mo
  5. Hi jph, I'm up in the Highlands, near Inverness.
  6. You'll maybe chuckle at this one.........I do pilates once a week. My misses is a farrier and she's been going to classes for 3 years now. She suggested I try going to them...my first thought being a bloke and all was aye right! Long story short(ish) I used to see a chiropractor every 3 to 4 months but since going to the pilates classes I haven't been once and its over a year now.
  7. Cheers to all for your thoughts. Think i've decided.......give a price to remove the tree, chip all waste (which the customer will keep for their own use) and leave the site and wood tidy. The customer can then take the firewood they want and then sell the rest themselves. Unless you have the right mechanised setup for firewood (preferably when you touch the wood as little as poss, in my opinion.) then its pretty hard going. As folk have replied, once you take into consideration transport etc your margins are pretty tight. Cheers all for the thoughts and advice:thumbup:
  8. The customer will keep some firewood for themselves, but I think they are looking to recoup some of the cost by selling the wood for firewood, basically I think they are looking for a reduced quote if I take a quantity for myself.
  9. Hi All, I'm looking for advice/thoughts......what would folk do when asked by a customer "to quote to include taking some for firewood"? Its an oak that is approx 5ft diam. at the base, approx 45ft high Would it be a price per estimated ton off for the amount I would want? I know its a bit vague but any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers.
  10. Nice one, great venison off the sika.
  11. Cheers Deer man, some tasty looking roe. Don't suppose you get sika deer in your neck of the woods? Got sika stags whistling around the house at the mo.
  12. Had a nosey too...just wondering what breed of dog is in pics 2 & 3..smart looking hound!
