He's known only as Ginner... like the stig,no one knows his real name.
some say he can install bt lines in his sleep and that he follows waz77 round for work, all we know is he's called the ginner:thumbup:
-
I have a friend who is an ex BT engineer who can repair or drop lines while work is done and re-instate afterwards. If anyone ever needs him drop me a PM and i'll pass it on.
is your mate called peter? i use a guy called peter (ex bt engineer too) to put lines back up, we snapped one that was frayed through to the copper wire from rubbing on a spruce branch, as soon as i climbed the tree it just twanged away but was over a factory roof so was fun to fix.
another one got snagged by a branch from a beech and was left mashed up with inner wires poking through the sheath but still worked:biggrin:

if bats by their nature choose trees that have defects to roost in does this mean they are used to or expect the natural disturbance caused by the natural environment i.e. trees failing in high wind/rotting/failing? i assume this is why certain bats have more than one roost.

Hi Ray, hows it going? nice idea but the police would have to foot the bill of tracing the mobile, i heard of a case of a car getting stolen recently with a phone in it and the police wouldn't trace it as it was not high priority and would cost them too much in the wake of recent cutbacks. Ed.

on a happy note a fuel station near me has a superfast fuel pump with twin pipes to the nozzle, i stuffed £91 quid in the landy in just over a minute this morning. at least i'm not paying to stand there in tears for longer than neccessary.
-
when i was over there i was amazed by how cheap they were, i even asked if the shop needed to see my certs to buy a top handle saw and being the land of the free and home of the brave.. the guy said 'whats one of them?'

does it chip highwaymen quite well?
-
nice one, ifor's are very good trailers. just get it locked down good! nose, wheel locks and superheavy ground anchor..
-
-
assuming they are hinged not sliding i would install hasp and staples with covered fixings, use three, top, bottom and middle, use three different padlocks of the closed shackle type, as well as maybe a ground anchor to slam the door against, anti burst hinges, or at least anti burst bars and cover the whole lot in carpet gripper varnished for longevity:thumbup1: maybe a trembler/screamer padlock as one of your defences

i'd try suggesting a fell and replant regime, more money for the client to pay out but kept on top of it will be a real asset to her and the neighbourhood, but if she doesn't want that then yes i would trim back to the sticks cursing all the way
-
i was talking to a client and we watched a squirrel jump onto a dead branch which brought the whole branch and squirrel crashing down, kinda natural eh?
-
no idea but it tastes pretty good

haha me too, don't bother with tree habitats lads.. just build one of these:thumbup:

a mate showed me this today, its only a mile down the road from my house, well thought out setup and in keeping with the look of the valley, its a concrete drainage pipe on end clad in stone with loads of bat holes and an access for them bats (not sure which) that like to zoom in from below:thumbup1:

Source of Half Earth's Oxygen Gets Little Credit okay i'm being really picky here but it looks like half of our oxygen comes from the sea and half from trees/grass etc.. but i'm sure that will be messed up by the time all the trees are cut down. sorry hama i can't make anyone feel any better tonight,
-
its not bilberry, i have seen that stuff, theres a wood full of it near me, it doesn't get leaves on it and you get soaked walking through it when its wet. dunno what it is tho..

thats just wrong, everybody knows a girls bum is meant to be at the same height as a mans hand.
-
im feeling pretty gullible this week too, while digging post holes we found a gas pipe and a water pipe, next thing my bro has his head down a hole saying 'oh crap' and i can hear a hissing noise too.. i drops everything and runs over to find him hissing and laughing at me..!

we had one like that this week but it stayed put, had a large stepladder so managed to untangle it but surprised it didn't snap as it took two of us to lift it over the wall
