  1. well after alot of emailing husky and pratting around with parts manuals i have found the answer! all it is is the eu muffler is very restricting compared to the us ones. i have got a dj (jungle muffler) 503 71 13-05 for £35 from ebay.com (£75 from this country) and a carb ajusting tool 530035560 for £6 from local dealer. 10 mins and it was all fitted and tuned up. louder and more power. definatly make a differance with my 36" bar. so for £40 i would recomend it to every 395xp owner. in thery i should be getting more than 7.1hp due to using the jungle muffler as its even less restricing than the standared usa one!! hears one of the husky emails for referance: Dear Sir, Thank you for your email . The initials f f stand for Spark Arrester Mufflers The initials D J stand for Jungle - A muffler used in very hot countries to reduce heat build up . Nether of these are recommended for use in the UK due to emission laws
  2. little update i email husky uk and asked them what the difference was and they replyed: "Dear Sir , Thank you for your email, The UK saw has a different carburettor & muffler to meet the more stringent emission laws here in the UK. Regards Technical Support" so there u have it but the tec specs say they have the same carb (HS 300A) but differend mufflers also the usa vertion is lowder than the uks which makes me think it might just be the mufflers with a retune?
  3. i did wonder if there was a us/uk hp differance like there is in uk/us gallons but its not the case. has anyone got a emailable 395xp parts manual? if i can get both uk and us vertions then wer farming!! on the exhaust port side it might well just be a different muffler??
  4. doubt it. alrady taken it for a good spin. great saw lots of grunt. not regreting it as it was only £784 all in with 2 chains n shipping n my local dealer wanteded £909. but its just knowing its capable of alot more and i've ordered a 36" bar which i'm sure would benifit from that little bit extra ;-) think the uk jet number is 5039888-01 but yet to find the us number to see if its different.
  5. sure its to do with some perthetic emisions regs. but there has got to be some very simple differance like an air starved carb with smaller jets then designed? it really can't be much atall. if no one can help then i'll compare the us n uk carb specs n see wats what but sure a few of you have alrady gone down tis rought. will have every 395xp owner ripping there saw apart on chrismas day yet ;-) jc
  6. now i've just shelled out on a 395xp as a christmas prez... for my self:001_tongue: just discovered that a 390xp is 6.5hp and a 395xp is 6.6hp not the us and aus 7.1hp now can anyone shed some light on this as to what i need to do to get it up to its designed 7.1hp?? otherwise i should have saved £60 n gone for the lighter 390xp thx
  7. thx for the very helpfull replys. ideal i'll avoid the forwarders then! i've never realy thought of a remote controlled timber winch. the more i think about it the more it makes sence! whats a good make? and where can i get one? or can i convert my 3 point linkage winch? i presume they are hydraulic winches with a 12v solinoid? any info would be great! jc
  8. i've been considering getting one of those smallish 6x6 forwarders like this valmet 836 VALMET 836 TIMBER FORWARDER NEEDING REPAIR on eBay (end time 29-Oct-09 18:11:22 GMT) or KOCKUMS 84-35 KOCKUMS 84-35 FORWARDER 6WD on eBay (end time 04-Dec-09 15:14:26 GMT) has anyone got one or knows if they are any good what i want it for is collecting cord wood around are steep woodland! winching takes an age and some of the stuff is a very long way down. how do they fair on slopes loaded up? i live in a very hilly part and 4x4 tractors will go up and down but hardly even tow a unladen trailer up are steep slopes! can they be used on tarmac roads? got to travel 3 miles on a main road to and from woodlands! what sort of speed can they do? any pics of them on steep slopes would be great also any prefrences on what ones to get? its mainly for firewood. my current setup it dragging the trees one at a time up on the link arms of a 100hp 4x4 tractor then loading them up at the top with a hiab! these forwarders looked ideal for under 10k??? cheers jc
  9. yep been useing chain saws for years with little probs. origon pro lite is the same bar and chain make i'm using. how about chain make? the chain fins don't go anywhere near the bar oil hole on mine to clean it? does yours? i'm using a 16" bar and chain??? i put my husky 15" bar and chain on it today and i had no probs cleaning the oil hole only prob was the bigger stuff not getting fully cut through. next step is to modify my 16" bar!!
  10. it is the bar. its too deep so the fins arn't cleaning the oil hole! its an orogen not jonsered bar. what bars are people useing? thanks

  19. the machine is only six months old so i put a brand new bar and chain on it. i've got the chain quite tight to stop it flicking off when it pinches. maybe that could be the problem?
  20. hi there i've just got me one of though 1x37 easy hakki pilke prossesors. great bit of kit but i'm having the problem of the saw bar oil hole clogging with sawdust very regually. it can last 3 hours or 15 mins befor it makes an awful noise from lack of oil. sawdust is getting well and truly stuck in the bar oil hole. i'm useing a jonsered bar and chain and cutting mainly ash. anyone got this problem n know a solution? i even tryed grinding a wider oil hole in the bar but it still gets clogged!! cheers jc
