  1. Just been given a photocopy of FC practice note, Managing and Controlling invasive rhododendron. 2% roundup is recommended dilution.
  2. Thanks for the input all. I hadn't seen that FC practice note, very interesting. Didn't know that you're only allowed to spray regrowth under 1.3m. I too was thinking a yellow full cone nozzle with a 1 bar FCV would be about right. Cheers.
  3. One of my lads was watching a contractor the other day using a green fan nozzle with Roundup Pro at 1 litre to 10 litres water and 3 bar pressure, which seems a bit much?.
  4. Hi, I've scoured around but can't find a definitive answer about nozzles and pressures for spraying rhoddie regrowth after cutting. Can anybody advise or point me towards info on this please?. Using a CP15 sprayer, roundup pro @2% and mixture b @2%, whats the best nozzle/pressure combination? - fan/cone, 1bar/3bar?.
  5. Thanks again. Unfortunately both saws are late 1980's and are discontinued on Stihl spares list.
  6. Sorry, I might have been a bit vague with my post!. Yes, I'm happy to go with the pattern pot'n piston but I wonder if anyone knows of a (UK preferably) source for the smaller bits and pieces for these older saws?. I did hear a story that a man in Ireland had more or less cornered the market.
  7. Hi, Does anyone know of "a man in Ireland" who allegedly has bought up loads of spares for discontinued Stihl chainsaws?. I'm after a chain brake band and the tiny rubber seals for the oil pump drive shaft on an 028 AV super. Also need a barrel and piston for an 034 but I see pattern ones of these on ebay pretty cheaply.
  8. Thanks for the pics log supplier, I didn't know there was an engine driven one like that, thought they were all electric. It certainly looks a useful tool.
  9. That's interesting, there seems to be very few vertical splitters around. I have a home-mader on the back of my Grey Fergie and am in the middle of making a trailer version using a Honda 9hp engine and 16gpm pump with a 24" x 3½" ram. What kind of machine do you have?. Any pics?.
  10. Sorry to resurrect a month old thread but White House Products of Port Glasgow can supply a suitable Barnes/Haldex 2-stage pump. In the end though, I bought one from Burdens Surplus Center, Nebraska at a very considerable saving on the UK price.
