  1. I don't know what to say re private Ryan but I do have my reasons for being Down. Depression is a hard thing. You may have reasons to be depressed you may have none. It doesn't make it any easier. I don't want sympathy but any advice will always be taken in the way it was sent. Thank you all for the help ill always be grateful for it and give any help I can. For what its worth I'm from moss side Manchester and I know about guns and friends being killed. Oh and before that gets taken the wrong way I'm not a 'gangster' just an average guy trying to make his life work by getting work. Hope that doesn't come across wrong. And for what its worth ill happily stand anyone a coffee. Nick
  2. No worries Stephen I didn't take it in a bad way thanks for taking the time for me. Many thanks for all the answers. I am in the process of setting something up thanks to Rueben Hayes who has got in touch with help. I'll try to get back to the others that have as well am always interested in any work I can do. In answer to the question what experience /qualifications do you have I worked for ten years more or less as a community forester, then as an assistant tree officer going on to become a tree officer, then did surveys becoming senior consultant. I have a masters in forestry, a degree in land management and an OCN level 3 forest schools leader award and I was a professional member of the arboricultural association. Many thanks to everyone its given me a much needed boost. If anyone needs help with GIS I'll try to help I wont always have an answer but I'll take the time to look for one. Cheers again Nick Burke MSc BSc Hons
  3. I'll look into exactly what you need to do but as all have said yes needs geo reference for points. AutoCAD can convert shape files to DXF/DWG files.
  4. There is a new age traveller site near the ski village just go up the road to the ski village when you go under the railway bridge turn left go to end of road. We are happy for all wood that can be delivered for our wood burners its in shirecliffe near burngreave off Rutland road and the skate pard. Gardners rest pub is at bottom of road. Nick
  5. I do any plans mapping etc in ArcGIS, or ArcPAD and I can use autocad. Both need learning to use but its worth it. Surveys, woodland management, planning applications bs5837:12 they can be used to do both. If you email me [email protected] I can possibly help at least with the software
  6. Sorry not a qualified tree surgeon. I started in the industry as a community forester for Sheffield council then did tree inspection for Camden council before becoming basically the tree officer for Thurrock council although it had some weird title. I then moved on to review Sheffield councils TPO's I've done more tree survey work for parkwoods. Then some how I've ended up not working for awhile. I've kept myself alive doing the issue which is both hard and easy all in one go. As to qualifications I've a deree in land management, a masters in forestry, an OCN level 3 forest schools practitioner and last but not least I did have M.Arbor but not kept it up due to that love thing called money. Its mainly myself stopping myself that and my depression one day up two days down. I'm lucky in that I'm not actually on the streets lm in a 10 ft caravan so I'm dry although crampded. But thanks for the words of encouragement they help more than you think. I'm trying for more jobs and looking into doing a doctorate either around forest schools or GIS. Something will come up its just me stopping me. I'll get there many thanks and if your in Sheffield centre in outside the Halifax feel free to stp for a chat and a coffee you never know I may even pay for it. Cheers Nick
  7. Hi all I'm back posting on the forum. I'm living in Sheffield id love to say I was working but things arnt good for me at the moment. I'm down to selling the big issue in Sheffield. I'm trying for jobs and I'm trying to set myself up in business. If anyone can give me advice on how to go about this it would be most appreciated. Also if anyone knows of any jobs/work that's going please feel free to get in touch. 07501286717 or email me at [email protected].
