  1. Snow has not been bad its the freezing temp at night that is causing problems. Thanks for the offer on the parts much appreciated.

I went to see a guy who has just started to sell logs and he has a huge pile of mixed stuff so I offered to split for him in exchange for wood, he likes the splitter system I have made up, he has a chainsaw and a axe with a big lump of steel welded to it for extra impact!!!!!!, he said he will use us once his other work picks up and he cant cope. Not a bad start.

  2. I have a mobile hydraulic log spliter mounted to a trailer which is powered off my landrover and up to now I use it for my own needs but the more people that see it in action say I should do it for other people, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in this sort of venture. It is a powerful unit and has not refused anything I have thrown at it. Approx 12 ton pressure according to my hydraulic specialist who piped it up for me. It has a nice ram speed so I can plough through a fair quantity of wood quickly and with it being mounted on a trailer I can saw up downed timber and split it in the field and move it to wherever. just wondering what you guys thought.

    Many thanks, Bob

  3. Did'nt mean to cause any offense to anybody,i'm just a blunt yorkshireman who say's it as he see's it.My Mrs reminds me of this quite often too.....

  4. Dont be put off by the one or two derisory comments now and again, some seem to forget that they had to learn once. Sharpening comes easily to some, others struggle for a long time to get it right. Most file guides have clear marking of angles for the relevant chains. if you have any doubt which file size you require, just ask at your dealers. Welcome to the forum:001_smile:

    Thanks Andy, much appreciated.

Didnt realise you had to be an expert before you had to post. Just wanted to make sure I got it right. If there is a place for good info I think I have found it. Sorry for being a novice.

Thanks to all who where helpfull.
