Snow has not been bad its the freezing temp at night that is causing problems. Thanks for the offer on the parts much appreciated. I went to see a guy who has just started to sell logs and he has a huge pile of mixed stuff so I offered to split for him in exchange for wood, he likes the splitter system I have made up, he has a chainsaw and a axe with a big lump of steel welded to it for extra impact!!!!!!, he said he will use us once his other work picks up and he cant cope. Not a bad start. ATB Bob

Many thanks for the reply, the local council sell rounds mixed with some bad pieces that would drive the unequiped person to insanity trying to splitting them so I was thinking along those lines but rich people with no time on there hands sounds good. Thanks again, Bob

I have a powerfull vehicle mounted hydraulic winch as well which I use for trees down in valleys etc.

I have a mobile hydraulic log spliter mounted to a trailer which is powered off my landrover and up to now I use it for my own needs but the more people that see it in action say I should do it for other people, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in this sort of venture. It is a powerful unit and has not refused anything I have thrown at it. Approx 12 ton pressure according to my hydraulic specialist who piped it up for me. It has a nice ram speed so I can plough through a fair quantity of wood quickly and with it being mounted on a trailer I can saw up downed timber and split it in the field and move it to wherever. just wondering what you guys thought. Just spotted the one and only group, good to be aboard. I have a hydraulic log splitting idea powered by my landy half completed, just waiting for warmer weather. Got my insperation from this guy. He has been very helpful with a few Pm`s to me on another forum. It is right up your street:001_smile:
