  1. Some will get split up for fencing, the better stuff will go through the mizer and I'll make benches, the rest for firewood. Access is very good, it's a country park so all hard roads and tracks. They also may buy some back off me as product(tree guards, stakes etc) so I'd like to get it, but not if I'll regret paying over the odds. I don't need it as I've arranged to cut for the forestry, it's only round the corner which would be nice. hmmmm.
  2. I'm about to buy some standing oak thinnings, 12-20" diameter. Anyone got a average price they're paying this year?
  3. ash and alder on a long rotation, 10-20 years, is a good firewood crop without having to split logs! Chestnut has a reputation as spitting so not so commercial, but it has a million other uses, i love it.
