Hi Sean. I'd like to use your image of a hazard beam here--> http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/9540-classic-hazard-beam.html in a college essay. Would that be ok? I'd just like to quote your full name if possible and the rest of the info I'll get from the site.

Cheers.

3. I reckon these are acorns in fact but still not sure why they're like that
4. Hi. Posting this for a friend who discovered some very odd looking hazelnuts. "I have no idea what's going on here. These are Hazelnuts, but there were loads of them split with these massive black things inside them. I don't know if they've just rotted, if this is some attacking fugus, some gall, or something else." Any ideas? Fascinating whatever it is.
5. Forgive my ignorance but does anyone have any idea what this is?
6. OK thanks for the info. I cover the Midlands and South West. Thinking it would be worth the investment.
7. Wasn't quite sure where to put this thread but does anyone know where I could hire a picus sonic tomograph, what sort of cost it would be and how would hiring kit work with the need for software?
8. Do consultants need public liability insurance? Professional indemnity is an obvious one but can't really see how walking around with a clipboard doing surveys and writing reports is going to result in injury to a MOP. Thanks in advance for your advice
9. It will depend on who you're hoping to get work with and what size contract you're after. Big companies generally look for a minimum of £1million
10. What's the latest research on this subject? The latest I have is from the Arboricultural Journal in 1983

Njug 4

Hi Can anyone tell my why NJUG 4 does not recommend using builders sand around roots when resurfacing? Is it because of the possibility of contaminants (lime/salt) or because it has less pore space than sharp sand and would therefore defeat the object of creating an oxygenated layer beneath a compacted surface?
12. Thanks. Haven't approached any of them yet as it would have taken quite a while to go through the list. Myerscough will be my first point of contact. Will let you know the result, in the mean time if anyone knows for definite that it is possible and where please let me know. Cheers
13. Hi all. I have a HND in arboriculture (since 2005) and want to top up to a full degree but the only way I'm going to be able to do this is through distance learning. Does anyone know if any of the colleges or universities offer it through distance learning? Thanks
14. Can anyone tell me what these are? Found on Robinia pseudoacacia
15. Can anyone tell me what this is? Shown here on Sorbus aria but also seen recently on Oak. It has the appearance of a squishy red/black puddle. My initial thoughts were Fistulina hepatica but it's not a bracket.
