  6. yo dude, hows it going ?? happy new year !! my husband got promoted to RSM and got leconfield as his posting. His CO had a bad back when they were away in afghan and just thought he had strained it, but about 3 weeks ago he went sick with it again and they told him he had an aggresive form of cancer and only had 2-4 weeks to live !! he called my hubby and the other sgt majors into work and told em what he wanted for his funeral etc, he then booked it for jan 16th cos doctors had said he will defo be dead by then, and.....well he died christmas eve !! (he was only 44 with a 9 year old son)

so johns sorting all that out then due to move to leccy about april/may. its near hull so im gonna start looking for a climbing job around there. loving where im working at the mo, gutted to leave, the lads are all a good laugh. hows things with you ?? im thinking of doing cs 40 at some point, have you already got that one ??

  7. would love to but no never topped conifers but im a fast learner !! where abouts in herts ??
  8. Sorry guys my computer crashed last night. My climbing is pretty okay...I think lol and i absolutely loved it !! i didnt have any probs getting around a tree at all but did have a slight issue with aiming throw bag....ooops !! I was a diesel mechanic for 8 years in the army so am quite used to hard/heavy work in all weathers then did 4 years as an army PE instructor. I was the only female often working with up to 50 blokes so have developed the gutter level sense of humour that is needed for all occasions Im sure gayn can back me up on that one:listen:tee: There are some of us women that can work has hard and have been known to drink as hard as a bloke (does 9 pints of guiness qualify lol) and to be honest this isnt the sort of job that you would ever get your average female even wanting to do. Youv got to be able to lift your own body weight for a start, not mind having arms that look like youv been self harming and a pair of b****x (metaphorically speaking of course lol) bigger than big king dong. So give us a chance guys, if we want a job like this is usually cos we know how to graft !!
  9. cheers treegeek. gonna start looking tomorow to see what there is out there. If you hear of owt in the surrey area let us know will ya.
  10. cheers steve, youv given me sumat to think about. your right i have no experience what so ever apart from the 5 weeks i did on the course to get my quals. gonna start looking to see whats going in my area.

  12. hi all, im a newby. Just passed cs30,31,38,39 and 41 after leaving a 13 year army career behind. Cant decide whether to become a free lance climber, work for a firm or start my own business. Any advice would be much appreciated and id love to hear from any other females in the industry to find out how they are getting along. I really like the climbing side of work, is this sumat i could go straight into (free lance) or would you lot recommend that i start in a firm as a groundy first to gain experience. ???
