I have a Japa 370 processor.  I fitted a new chain & oregon pro-light 158SLGK095 bar not long ago.  Cut about 20 m3, never sharpened chain and bar had worn badly, chain slops about and not cut straight.  Turned bar over and perfect agian.  sharpened chain & done another 15-20m3 and bars worn again.  it doesnt seem to be cutting perfectly straight so measure the angle and only out a degree or so.  I canrt see how to get it true again.  Ive never had a problem in the past tho.  Its lubing correctly just wearing the bar groove out so chain does not sit square.  if i cut on the tip its perfect.  Can anyone reccomend anything or recomend a harder wearing bar?

My mate has just had the same on hilkie pikie. And turned out to be the drive sprocket worn

    Hey Skyhuck

Yeah I hear what ya saying, I've been cutting my own firewood from our woods for the last 18months. And I actually find enjoyable. I think its more to do with that I'm happy to spend my own time on my own business. But you raise a fair point and that's why I posted in a forum fist, before I start spending money on kit!

Yeah but your only doing your own wait till you get loads of orders in to do ! Get tedious after a while even with a processor !

So does that mean you don’t have to be registered if you supply over 2m3 loads ?

I've heard there's someone round here who does tractor, firewood processor, and 2 men for 250 a day :o

Maybe there's extras like mileage, fuel/vat on top, I don't know.

At the other end of the scale, a local dealer is hiring out a road tow farmi, machine only, think the price was 250, so that's excluding delivery, fuel and operator.

Is that in Gloucestershire if so can I have his number please or contact details

Apart from the boilers that burn waste sawdust etc most need sub 20% moisture to work properly. We dry our woodchip which we use for our kiln to less than 15. You just use a small percentage of what you've dried for the next lot.

Biomass boilers are also much more efficient than any log burner so emissions would be much less.

How do you dry your wood chip ?

The “loose cubic metre” that is quoted on the imported national companies websites are completely wrong.

We bought a couple of pallets off a few of them years ago to find out what they equates to and they are all Massively optimistic! One quoted 3.6 loose cubic metres and we got 1.6/1.7 out of it. I also emailed them all to tell them, obviously fell on deaf ears!

Yep the small crate you are lucky to get 1.2 cube loose out of !
