Nope, was on a super old Q.ilex in Kerry, Ireland.

Few bits and pieces I've stumbled across in the past week.

I think it was a seedling or else it was coming from the buttress. Didnt put it there anyway.

Some from today. I think the first one is young Meripilus giganteus? on Beech

Then some Polyporous squamosa on sycamore and some Inonotus dryadeus on Oak.

Im not sure what they are but mushrooms growing in soil/compost is fairly normal and normally nothing to worry about. Il leave someone else to comment directly on what they are and if theyre dodge.

That one does look a bit weird.

They keep the stakes high to give less leverage for vandals to snap the tree though.

Seen this quite a bit, think they do it in a few boroughs now. Nice idea
