  1. i know but camera and computer seem to be having some sort of tiff at the moment!
  2. We have just looked at a beautiful holm oak for a customer. It is on their drive way and starting to rot, it clearly had a crown reduction a few years ago and now rot is working its way through the left hand side of the tree. It is now hollow in the main trunk with a fair amount of rot in the wood, mycelium under the bark and quite abit of bark loss lower down with a curly bracket fungus which looks like dried up honey fungus (but cant be sure). The customer wants it down as they are worried it will fall at some point, personally i would leave it a couple more years and have suggested this to the customer but they are pretty adamant. Any suggestions? as i dont know if i can bring myself to take down such a good lookin tree!
  3. bloody brilliant, thanks for all the advice! however as you may notice from the delay in thanks, i've been real busy, wahey, and too knackered to spend time on the computer. Although as always it seems to be drying up again. We had some slick looking flyers printed up a while ago and aside from the usual, local shops, agriculture suppliers etc. we havent really used many so i may give the old pikey letterbox drop a go, as long as people dont start calling me up to tarmac their drives! Anyone down this way had a stand at the southwest woodfair? if so, was it worth it?
  4. hi, im new on here so firstly, owdo! Just a quick one to see if anyone has any bright ideas about advertising/scoring jobs etc. I dont think there is anyone on here from my neck of the woods so hopefully you wont be giving me your ideas and then finding me pinching all your jobs. I have recentley set up with a mate and so far we have been doing really well, bearing in mind we also do timber building and other things, but recentley work has been drying up and apart from ads in the local paper and shops etc we dont know where else to look. Need some jobs so any help would be appreciated.
