  1. i thought i was limited to 750kg but this months NFU magazine says you are ok up to a total weight of 3500kg trailer and vehicle, which i recon is rubbish, but tis their legal specialist legal advisor has written it.

will just air on the side of caution i think

Yes I have read that to, the dvla website says “Category B vehicles may be coupled with a trailer up to 750kgs MAM (allowing a combined weight up to 4.25 tonnes MAM) or a trailer over 750kgs MAM provided the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle, and the combination does not exceed 3.5 tonnes MAM.” :confused1:

Which is fine as long as you know the exact weight of vehicle and trailer and you don’t want to load the vehicle.

It is explained better here - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/CaravansTrailersCommercialVehicles/DG_10013073

  2. That fits in with mine..I was 2200 kg odd tare normally, and I'm sure I used to get out for the weigh... and no tools, either..so that left 1.3 tons for me and everything else, assuming it could be loaded without going overweight on an axle. It was a tipper, and it had a twin rear axle.

Yes tipper with steel body and twin rear axle.

We went over the weight bridge full of chip as well, only have a standard steel body with 15-inch deep sides. Filled it 3 inches from the top and with all are kit we were 3400kg.

Stupidly didn’t check the axles on there own, but it was worth the £10 to know what we can carry.

  3. Yes the payload of a transit is poor, the grave digger at work got pulled and was over weight on the back axel.

So we have spent sometime at the way bridge, as I see it you are lucky to be able to carry 900kg If u want to carry kit as well. With two guys and all our kit and a full tank of diesel we weighed 2350kg.

It is far to easy to over load a 3.5 ton truck:thumbdown:

  4. I think the best way to avoid the hangover is to build up a certain level of tolerance, keep the body in training so to speak. As Alcohol is a poison, best to build up the bodys ability to handle it, rather than shock it on odd occasions.

I have to agree with that its all practice, and if u drink whiskey for the love of god don’t put water in it.

  5. I am not that angry just scratching my head that someone has gone to that length for 5 semi rotten posts...... Is it just me or is britain filling up with complete nutters.:scared:

Yes I’m starting to think so, yesterday someone broke into the cemetery toilet and nicked all the copper pipe. Crazy I could believe it when I was told, is the price of scrap that good? To go to all that trouble for about 6 ft of pipe.
