  1. Thanks! I don’t know this other photo gives any more clues?
  2. Can anyone give me a steer? 2 photos and it seems like there’s maybe 2-3 different species? Thanks!
  3. Has anyone had experience of chainsaw chains from eBay? I’ve been using Rotatech chains for my corded electric Titan saw, but options on eBay are sometimes more than 50% less. I just use my saw for processing wood at home for use in our stove. Thanks
  4. I was fortunate to get a drop off of cherry. How long should I expect to be seasoning it for before burning? Thanks!
  5. Oh yeah, definite vinegar smell! Thanks that’s great to know
  6. Thanks both - appreciate the guidance
  7. I have been offered a mix of hard + soft wood from my local golf course (felled between 6 months - 3 years ago). What would be a fair donation amount to offer? It would be a 4x4 load amount I would be collecting myself. Thanks!
  8. Thanks both! Seems like Sycamore is the best bet. Does it all seem the same species in your opinion?
  9. Still learning! Any help identifying? Thank you
  10. I know in an ideal world the answer is £0, but can I ask members would they would feel comfortable paying for this amount of unprocessed oak? I will be collecting myself. Thanks!
  11. @Steven P can I ask which electric saw you use?
  12. Any idea? I thought maybe Ash? It’s very heavy! Thank you.
  13. Apologies if this has been asked before (I couldn’t find it when searching forum). As a newbie to this I’m looking to upgrade from a corded to cordless electric chainsaw. 16” bar, or longer, would be good. I’ll be using this at home largely to process logs for my stove. I hoped to not spend more than £200. what would people suggest I look out for - either new or preowned. thanks again.
  14. Now I’m looking for them, there are black buds on a number of those log types.
  15. Possibly Ash then? 🤞🏼🤞🏼
  16. Thank you all - much appreciated. (What do I know!) but can I double check the rough barked wood is definitely not ash? I noticed it has these black buds on some side stalks which I thought might indicate so.
  17. Thanks! They were sourced from a local camp site as part of their ongoing land management. I’m a newbie to all this - are they decent wood types for burning? Average?
  18. Can anyone help me identify 1,2 and 3? TIA
  19. A newbie here, any help identifying these wood types please?

Driveway available for tipping (this space is the size of roughly 4 parked cars) - I will be using any available wood for my log burning stove.
