  1. Hi guys trawled through some of the older threads on here but some are a good few years old now, so thought I'd start a freshie. Been asked to have my own public liability subbing out to quite a large firm. Fine no problems i can get some, just think its a bit odd since I'm a 'labour only subcontractor' providing my own saws and climbing gear like most subbys do. There was some mention of IR35 reg's so guessing they're covering their backs in case they get investigated for disguised employment (seems a bit extreme since I'm providing tools, not wearing uniform etc) just wanting to know if anyone has come across this before and if some insurance providers require subbys to have their own? I'm working else where and I'm covered under their insurance. thanks
  2. Detachable swivel so you can run it straight through your bridge is a great idea
  3. I did my 38 just over two years ago and we spoke about it a bit, nothing practical wise and it's not required for assessment. Needs to change in my opinion especially as I hear a common cause of accidents is from anchor failure (just an assumption is not happening with DRT as much)
  4. Are there any courses in 2025 for learning to climb SRT? (if they're not a thing they need to be). I'm employed so I don't pay for my gear, which does prevent me from trying different kit and techniques. It also doesn't help that my boss dismisses the idea of SRT completely so getting some kit to try is slim. A course in learning the basic techniques and trying some different kit would be great. It would be nice to be able to go to work and not be trying srt for the first time. cheers
