  1. Great, thank you for the advice. I acquired the stove cheaply, but don't know it's history. It looks in good order otherwise. From reading through the thread here, I note that morso castings can fail, so possible that another failure or lack of maintenance exposed the Stove top to excessive heat. I will strip it down with a view to replacing ropes and other consumabable parts. Will add a stove top to the list. Grateful for your replies, thank you. Aula
  2. I am not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this question. Do you think that it is viable to have a fractured Morso Badger (3112) top plate cast iron welded ? I bought the stove used with the intention to for it to heat the living room in a house that is only occupied for a couple of months a year currently. A replacement part from Morso is £300 or so inc VAT
