In dry conditions you need to soak the earth around the tree daily,also did you put any compost/leaf mulch in before planting.

The tree needs some sort of mulch to feed from when just planted.I often use breaking down leaves.

In my experience Silver birch dont like hot dry conditions and can also suffer from transplant shock both can result in yellowing leaves.

Birch leaves yellow naturally in autumn and fall off but id think its too early for that yet.

Do you know what type of soil you have as birch can suffer if they are planted in poorly drained soil- clay etc
