I'm not a mid tie balance riggin kinda guy, but it seems to work relatively well for you, and others.

 

Only time it makes sense to me is feeding whole tree chipper's with a crane.

Not so much of a freak, just like control Mid tying in those close situs makes handling the branch on the ground way easier...
