Removal of fly wheel

Go easy on me as I'm new to chainsaw maintenance......

I am changing out the crankcase on my grandfather's stihl 021. I have managed to take off the bolt holding the flywheel to the crankshaft however it still seems stuck on. From what I can find online it seems that you've got to hit the thing with a mallet and then use a flat head screw driver to free it up!

I just wanted to be sure that this is what I'm supposed to do as I don't generally like hitting things if I don't have to

Two options, use a thin legged puller as I don't believe the flywheel has any tapped puller holes, the other is to leave the nut 1/3rd off, pick up the engine with the flywheel and belt the nut with a copper mallet. You can tap a screw driver in behind the flywheel bit go easy. If it doesn't move, try a lighter tap from a steel headed hammer bit go easy on it.

All flywheels stick like this!
