I am in the market for a vertical style log splitter, that meet or come close to the following criteria but not necessarily in this order

For home personal use only.

Preferably engine powered, not electric and quiet to run. Petrol/Diesel?

Tonnage pressure?

Hopefully portable but not necessarily towable

UK manufacture.

Good spares backup.

Reasonable knife recycle speeds

It will be kept outside all year. Not kept undercover. So will need to come with a cover.

Horizontal space is limited for its location, so a vertical splitter is the only option.

Able to split large rounds or biggish sections currently have some 36”dia rounds

No problems splitting odd shapes or gnarly lumps

Able to test or see one working for real not just watch video footage

Simple to use so her indoors can work it (hopefully a nice big xmas pressy for her)

Have a 4 way knife as well as a straight blade

Am not able or willing to travel inside M25 ring as I am a non LEZ supporter (apparently) so that will rule out any companies inside the M25 for viewing.

Will consider second hand or ex demo if price is right

Recommendations please from users as well as suppliers.
