Found these old brackets in a cavity of a elm and can't seem to ID it which is really bugging me now... :thumb down:

 

can anyone help shed some light please

I'd hazard a guess at either Armillaria mellea or Flammulina velutipes.

 

There does appear to be the black boot laces associated with A. mellea in the left side of the first photo but I wouldn't expect to see a desiccated fruiting body as the frost tends to get to them; therefore it could be F. velutipes...........

Maybe A.mellea, I'm actually in NZ and it is autumn just turning to winter and we are getting frost in the morning also
