Will this rain ever stop?

I was going driving for my local plant hire company this week, they have had so many cancellations due to the heavy rain that they dont need a driver any more. I reckon I'v had an inch in the last 24 hours.

Parts of my parents place are under 2 feet of water, and the council have closed the main road as its flooded.

I'm almost glad I'v got no work on and I can finish fitting the new bathroom in the warm and dry! I might just retrain as a plumber!

Some pics from my parents place. The blue astra in the third pic was floating, it was rocking in the swell every time another vehicle went through. Deepest point in the road is about 2 feet at the moment, although its still rising. I only just got through in the transit. Some places in the gardens are under 3-4 feet of water. There are some very nice trees and plants that are going to be waterlogged for a while, including a tulip tree and a Davidia. Fingers crossed for them.
