Understand what you meant bud .. Same time it's like all manual tools under 'stress's' .. Let it go / momentarily have a lapse of concentration and an accident is going to be inevitable. Wouldn't like a slap on the cheek off of one of these levers.!! Looks like it could take someone's eye out

Since posting this thread I've received great feed back via Arbtalk & other forms of communication.

I now have a much better understanding of it's many uses., the Inventor (The late Walter Sylvester) & How much this device changed the safety of miners. Walter saved an unimaginable amount of lives through inventing this device. A great primitive invention that works so well an unknown collegue went to America and stole the invention as Walter only patented it here in the UK.

A Very impressive bit of kit I think you'd agree Arbtalk.

Since it's an Artifact the National Museum of Mining in England has been notified of it's existence and were shocked one is still in Public Possesion. A member of the Historian Guild will be contacting me tomorrow about the piece for more info., exact date it was made., etc.
