I cant speak for the guys, but I can tell you from personal experience climbing in the tropics that you dont want to get a cambium saver stuck 80 metres up. Also its not like tree work where you are smashing out the whole tree off one anchor. A slow descent isnt going to do to much harm when the whole tree is covered in creeper protecting the cambium usually. but yeah not ideal
