its the same saw but running on 3/8chain........you just have to change clutch drum bar and chain

 

Yes, but there really are no reason to do it - 3/8" suits those saws very well. Actually, the first thing I did with my 560xp was to change the setup to 3/8".

Later I bought the standard 7-spline drum, to be able to use 3/8x8 (with short bars, 16").

 

The real differenses between the 560xp and 562xp is that the 562 has the large bar mount and a higher air filter/cover + some added weight as a result.

Many Americans I know from the US saw forums say they would have preferred the 560 over the 562, if they had the choise.

Don't think they are more powerful in standard form . The big bars are probably skip chain and run in soft wood . The actual moter is the same as a 560 as I understand it . Therese plenty of tweekers in US though . Petemate has tweeked my 560 and it runs stronger than standard .

 

Yes, everything that has to do with power output is exactly the same.
