Hi, just bought a 1620 from a friend, been stood for about 3 years. Worked fine before that. It starts and runs when fuel/carb cleaner is put into top of carb but stops when thats burned off. So I'm thinking a carb problem or fuel pump?

Any advice on how I determine whats up with it would be great.

Has anyone got a manual for it too they can email me?

Thanks guys.

I was referring to the manual thing, but yeah, take your point.

Probably rotted diaphragms.

If it were me, I'd take it to a good garden machinery place, Rather than poke around hopefully.

You should be able to hear the fuel pump when the ignition is on.

Yeah was thinking diaphrams. Was hoping not to have to pay for a manual, but may have to. Haven't noticed a noise actually coming from the pump, will check that.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Pretty sure the pump is mechanical. Try putting a rubber bulb primer in the fuel line to get fuel to the pump before you try and start it. We have the same problem with ours if it's been standing a while.
