an SRT job

Was reducing a small oak today about 30ft but just pencils and only needed tips prunned on the canopy bit harder on top. Previously topped looked bad

But no anchor one stem strong enough to drt but would leave you flat lined or struggling with branches in the way. Not a worry redirect across and dropped down hitting it in quaters. Only pruning saw work almost seceteurs at the lower canopy. It was one of those jobs that makes you love tree work.

This is why I love SRT I don't use it in all climbs and have a drt setup ready to go and an srt setup, but when I get the SRT kit out I know it will transform a job from difficult or impossible to super easy to difficult. it just Opens up new doors makes everything possible.

I like to be able to disconect the rope wrench so that I can swap between the two techniques during a climb. I have the wrench set up so I can just lanyard in, take it out and then go back to DDRT. Best of both worlds. More often then not I will stick to SRT. It has transformed the way I climb personally. If I left home without my SRT gear I would be severely irritated!

i know what you mean i left my wrench out of my gear bag was gutted to be on ddrt. I only really use ddrt to reach my final TIP then go srt i just use one end with a prussic and upside down srt gear so if i have to descend it gets pushed out of the way. When i reach the tip anchor in get out the amount of tail i need then tie in the srt line and anchor into srt stuff good to go . SIMPLES
