How is this done, Industrial machine? What type of twine is used and how many stiches are needed?

It is done by machine. According to the Sherrill literature each type of rope has a different amount of stitches and pattern to get the maximum strength.

Just to answer your query, stitching specifications are as per the manufacture, stitch pattern varies along with fibers used, invariably they are a synthetic fiber and some (not all) will choose a fiber with a melting point greater than 195 'Degree C'.

 

The 195 dC is the minimum melting temp for rope fibers used when tested for certification under EN1891.

 

Terminations when tested must be able to sustain a force of 15kn (Type A rope) and 12kn (Type B rope), for a period of 3 min.
