2nd post, axe or maybe a 4lb brickie hammer. Unless of course you're a traditionalist!

 

i find using a normal brick hammer does your arm in as handle is to short.

hence need a nice bit of wood with a lonigsh handle on. got no decent thorn in hedge to young. have a holly tree but do not want to hack it.

will see if i can find some apple. bingo i know were i have got some will go and get a bit apple tree needs a good prune.
