New Carb MS290

I got a problematic Stihl ms290. Fails to run throttle and i have already thrown money at it. What i need to know is that i have been quoted £100 for a new Carb which seems steep. Are the ones you see on Ebay for alot less any good or is there a certain Brand to avoid and one to look for?

I personally would stick it in a decent high power US cleaner in a stripped down condition and then reassemble and try it again - I have yet to throw a carb in the bin or replace one!
