I like the Yale fire rope as its much more visable than the green and white version I had before. As for harnesses I found the butterfly cut me in half and left bruises no matter how I adjusted it, tried a mates treemotion and had to buy one, expensive yes but worth it as I climb so much free'er and don't hurt afterwards.
