My saw would not tick over till it was really hot and last week I bought some Aspen2 to see if it would make any difference plus it means less draining off as I can now leave it for a few weeks at a time. It didn't make any difference to the tick over but top end seems smoother but I decided to do something about the tick over problem and bought a splined driver. I got the saw hot then turned the L screw in about 1/8 turn and it now ticks over like a good un and starts better, plus I have also noticed that it doesn't kick back at me like it did before. Would altering the mixture help eradicate the kick back or is it just getting run in now it's about 6 months old ?
