Keeping "match fit"

If i havent climbed in a while its finger strength and quads that get me.I do a lot of cycling so my cardio is normally fine but my fingers start to claw with cramp pretty badly. The quad thing is a suprise as cycling is good for quads, however, cycling uses mostly slow twitch muscle fibres for endurance, so maybe squats with a bit of weight is the answer targetting fast twitch fibres associated with sort bursts of power.

When i had access to a free gym it wasnt so much of an issue but my finger strength has always been a bit poor as i`ve got small hands.I used to spend a lot of time on forearm curls, pull ups, and finger exercises with those squeezing type devices with a spring.Might have to buy a pair.I also used to squat a good weight and deadlift similar which is a good allover exercise that was good for fingers.
