Presumably they know your already starting to run your own show.

Why not call around local companies and find people who need a freelancer. That will cover whatever days you don`t have your own work. That way you can grow your business organically.

 

Whilst the idea of not having secure work is intimidating, if you want to start a business you will have to take the plunge at some point from secure work into providing your own work or at least freelancing. Generally contracts come later but just because that`s the experience of most people doesn't mean it will be your experience.

why not just do whatever work you can during your free time, build up a nice small client base and then that should turn into word of mouth for you? That way you can still work whilst building up a client base ready for when you decide to go your own way and start up your own company.
